Monique Miller was born in Fayetteville, NC. As an Army Brat, her family lived in North Carolina, Missouri, and New York. Monique graduated from James Kenan High School in Warsaw, North Carolina. She is a 1994 graduate of North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina with a degree in Foods and Nutrition.   

She has been working as a Nutritionist for over 10 years for the NC Women, Infants & Children (WIC) a Federal Supplemental Food Program, counseling families on the importance of healthy nutrition and lifestyles. In 2001 Monique volunteered as a correspondent for a local Jacksonville, NC television show called Onslow County today where she informed residents of the area happenings.  

Monique is a member of the prestigious Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.   

She is also a member of The Divine Literary Tour (DLT), which brings together Black Greek Authors from across the nation for a cross-country tour.   The DLT tour has dual purposes: promoting literacy and celebrating cultural diversity.  The tour also provides scholarships for children, which will assist in changing their legacy and vision for generations to come.

Monique wrote her first, and only play, in fifth grade, titled The Ghost of Bloody Brick Road. Monique has also written articles for the AGM Ministries Inc. newsletter under the direction of Aubrey G. Mullen Jr., Pastor of the Abundant Life International Baptist Cathedral and State Bishop for the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Currently Monique is a member of World Overcomers Christian Church where she works in the Watch Drama Ministry.

MoniqueIn 1992 she won her first award for writing for an essay titled The Hand That Rocks the Nation Rules the World.  She also placed in the 2003 Black Expressions Book Club’s Annual Fiction Writing Contest, submitting the first chapter of her then titled manuscript, Saving the Best for Last, now newly titled Secret Sisterhood .

Secret Sisterhood is Monique’s debut novel, which will be released in October 2007. Her second novel, Soul Confessions, the sequel to Secret Sisterhood, is due to release in April 2008!      

Currently Monique lives in Cary, North Carolina with her family.
